Jorge A. Merino brings an extensive and impressive background to his business brokerage practice that services sellers and purchasers of middle market and small privately held businesses. Prior to joining Vanguard Resource Group, he held positions as an account executive and realtor in the mortgage and real estate fields where he quickly moved up the proverbial “ladder of success” into the position of a sales manager by recruiting, training and managing the production of a team of successful realtors and loan officers. He also worked as a program manager and as a teacher in secondary education where he learned to value the power of personal relationships. Needless to say, Jorge brings to his practice a dynamic blend of personal qualities, business experience and education.
His involvement as a VR Senior Associate spans all aspects of the acquisition and divestiture process including business valuations, contract negotiations, strategic exit-planning & multi-level marketing designed to connect the right purchaser with the right seller, and coordinating 3rd party involvement during due diligence, deal-making, and closing processes. He offers his expertise to a variety of market segments including business, personal & professional services, biotech industry services, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, food & general retail, franchises, and web-based business opportunities.
Jorge’s commitment to the business brokerage industry is deep. He is an active member of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB®). He holds the prestigious designation of CABB® Certified Business Broker (CBB) and he is a candidate for the sought after designation of IBBA® Certified Business Intermediary (CBI). When he is not providing service to his seller and purchaser clients, Jorge is actively counseling and assisting entrepreneurs & small business owners realize their business dreams as a SCORE® counselor and volunteer.
Jorge is a long time San Diego resident and a Cum Laude graduate of Alliant International University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Liberal Studies.
